Any request from our customers is given top priority and will be interpreted, first and foremost, according to their needs and not ours. Even in the absence of a personal consultant, we will all do our utmost to respond quickly and in line with your expectations.

Our customers' needs are important and urgent. Our responses must be timely and add value, developing options in line with customer expectations. A customer's problem is given top priority so that it can be resolved (even in the absence of their main contact person).

Each consultant will have to tailor the use of their skills to the needs of their clients and will be able to count on the abilities and expertise of every Axion employee. The experience gained by each individual is an asset to Axion and will be shared within the bank. This sharing of knowledge about client profiles will enable us to offer a service of ever-increasing quality.

The name

The word derives from ancient Greek (αξιον) and means value and performance. It encapsulates in just a few letters what private banking has always meant to us: being attentive to our clients' needs and understanding their personal desires. We are committed to fulfilling their goals because they are also ours.

Our history

Axion SWISS Bank SA is a Swiss private bank based in Ticino, dedicated to tailor-made private banking. Founded in 1998, it has been part of the BancaStato group since 2010, a solid and well-established local institution, which acquired control of the bank with the aim of developing specialist expertise and expanding its presence in international private banking.

In 2016, Axion further strengthened its position by acquiring part of the private banking activities of Société Générale Private Banking (Lugano), doubling its size and consolidating its mission: to offer customized wealth management solutions to a demanding and international clientele, in a context of utmost discretion, transparency, and continuity.

We combine expertise, solidity, and long-term vision to support our clients in strategic decisions related to their assets, today and for future generations.

1998
The business begins operating under the name Unicredit (Suisse) SA at Via Emilio Bossi 1 in Lugano.
2010
The management and BancaStato take over the share package and Axion SWISS Bank SA is born.
2013
BancaStato controls 100% of Axion SWISS Bank SA.
2015
BancaStato, through Axion SWISS Bank SA, acquires part of the assets of Société Générale Private Banking Lugano.
2016
The headquarters of Axion SWISS Bank SA is moving from Via Emilio Bossi 1 to Viale Stefano Franscini 22 in Lugano (the former headquarters of SG Private Banking).

The Group

Founded in 1915, BancaStato is the bank of the Canton of Ticino. For over a century, we have supported the economic development of the region, offering the citizens of Ticino a solid partner for the management and enhancement of their assets.

Over the years, while remaining faithful to our public service mission, enshrined in law and guaranteed by the state, we have steadily and strategically expanded our range of services: from mortgage loans to pension solutions, from private banking to asset management, to the most advanced electronic banking tools.

With over 400 employees and an extensive network of branches, agencies, and ATMs, we have a direct presence in the region, maintaining our strong identity as a modern universal bank that is close to the people.

Our governance

The governing bodies of Axion SWISS Bank SA are the Board of Directors and the Executive Board.

The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction and supervision of the Bank's management, while the General Management is responsible for the management of day-to-day business.
