Raoul Paglia has been appointed the new Chairman of the Executive Board of Axion SWISS Bank SA, effective July 1, 2026

The Board of Directors of Axion SWISS Bank SA is pleased to announce that Raoul Paglia will be the new Chief Executive Officer.

Raoul Paglia will take over from Marco Tini,  who, as previously announced on March 13 during the press conference presenting the BancaStato Group’s annual results, has decided to step down after ten years at the helm of the bank to pursue personal, non-professional projects.

Effective July 1, 2026, Raoul Paglia will assume leadership of Axion SWISS Bank SA, a private banking firm and part of the BancaStato Group. Raoul Paglia brings extensive experience in the banking and fiduciary sectors. A member of the Board of Directors of BancaStato from 2012 to 2024 (Vice Chairman since 2019), he joined the Board of Directors of Axion in 2018.

According to Giovanni Jelmini, , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Axion SWISS Bank SA—the body responsible for selecting and appointing the successor to Tini — “Raoul Paglia, in addition to being a recognized and competent professional, knows the Bank very well, understands the market environment in which it operates, and represents a guarantee of continuity for clients and employees. Thanks to his experience, he will ensure the consolidation and development of Axion’s positioning in its target markets, a strategy successfully promoted by Marco Tini over the past 10 years.” As planned, the selection process was conducted in coordination with the parent company BancaStato and FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.

Satisfaction with the choice of the new Chairman of the Executive Board was also expressed by Attorney Michela Ferrari-Testa, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of BancaStato, which owns Axion SWISS Bank SA: “We are convinced that Raoul Paglia will be able to follow in Marco Tini’s footsteps in an exemplary manner and provide Axion with significant impetus for its role within the Ticino financial center. In light of his professional skills and experience, the Board of Directors of BancaStato has approved, in accordance with its duties, the selection of Paglia.”

The outgoing Chairman of the Executive Board, Marco Tini, has been a leader and a source of inspiration for all employees, helping to create the team spirit and corporate culture that distinguish Axion SWISS Bank SA and have enabled it to achieve significant milestones.
